What is the iCombi Classic?

2020 was a busy year for rollouts of new equipment and technology with RATIONAL. It brought us the iVario Pro, as well as the iCombi Pro. But what if your foodservice operation is on the smaller end, and you're not needing all those bells and whistles that the iCombi Pro offers? That's where the iCombi Classic comes into the scene.

What makes the iCombi Classic different? It's a simpler version of it's big brother, the iCombi Pro. It's an entry level piece of equipment that is the perfect replacement to your conventional steamer and/or convection oven, and a great first step into the combi world. To put it simply, it's the old reliable flip phone that you can always count on to make phone calls, in the world of the iPhone that is multifaceted. Unlike the flip phone though, the iCombi Classic still has many of the features that foodservice workers know and love.

The iCombi Classic offers the exact same cooking power as the iCombi Pro, however, the main difference is that the iCombi Classic has fully manual cooking modes, compared to the intelligent assistant that's built into the iCombi Pro.

Other features that the iCombi Classic boasts are:

  1. Over 100 individual cooking programs with up to 12 steps each, including dehumidification. It's possible to do a delicious and crispy pizza crust, too.
  2. More fan wheels. This means a greater distribution of heat, allowing for speed and efficiency. It's what you've come to know from any RATIONAL combi oven, and they didn't scrimp that feature.
  3. Automatic cleaning and descaling. Ultimately, saving the foodservice operator labor costs.
  4. Environmentally friendly. The iCombi Classic uses sustainable stainless steel, and all the cleaning tabs are phosphate free.
  5. Full color display panel, with push functions and intuitive symbols on the control panel. It also features Climaplus. This means energy is transferred to the food with precision and, where appropriate, with a lot of power. The result: large load size with excellent uniform results across all the racks.
  6. Uses up to 10% less energy and water consumption. The main objective of the iCombi Classic is producing consistent high quality results with crisp crusts, attractive diamond grill patterns, and crispy breaded products.
  7. Various size options. All of the sizes available in the iCombi Pro are also available in the iCombi Classic. This makes it perfect for the classic restaurant, or portable enough for the catering world, too.
